Our History

The inception of the Seattle Pinball Museum stemmed from our heartfelt aspiration to share the joy of gaming with fellow enthusiasts and collectors within our local community. At the outset, it was the unwavering support and collaboration of the local collector community that paved the way for the triumphant establishment of the Seattle Pinball Museum.

In late August 2010, the Seattle Pinball Museum proudly opened its doors, introducing a novel concept centered around showcasing vintage pinball machines as captivating works of kinetic art. Our vision was to create an interactive space that celebrated the rich history of these timeless gaming marvels.

During our search for a suitable venue, we fortuitously encountered a program known as Storefronts Seattle. Recognized for its ability to breathe new life into dormant storefronts by pairing them with esteemed juried artists, Storefronts Seattle sought to invigorate neighborhoods. Initially launched in Chinatown and Pioneer Square, this innovative program provided an exceptional opportunity for creative enterprises to thrive. Following an application process, the Seattle Pinball Museum was chosen as one of the ten esteemed ventures.

With the aid of an initial grant, we embarked on a transformative three-month tenure in a vacant storefront nestled within the vibrant heart of Seattle's Chinatown/International District. The resounding success of our presence led to an extension of five months, during which the Seattle Pinball Museum began its evolution into a fully independent and self-sustaining enterprise. This pivotal transition occurred in June 2011, marking an important milestone in our journey.

At the Seattle Pinball Museum, we are driven by our passion for preserving and sharing the cultural significance of these captivating games. We remain committed to fostering a welcoming environment where visitors can immerse themselves in the timeless artistry of pinball while creating cherished memories that will endure for years to come.
